Laura Jean Whitcomb, editor In addition to running a marketing and PR firm in Grantham (www.howling-beagle.com), Laura Jean was recently the editor of two regional magazines for five years. Her college friends are extremely happy that she has finally started the magazine that she has talked about for years. Laura Jean has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University and an MBA from Syracuse University in innovation management — a marketing specialty focused on developing new products or processes and bringing them to market.
Deborah McKew, contributing editor
Deb McKew has an MS in science journalism from Boston University and a BA in English/biology from Mount Holyoke College. She has been a writer for most of her career, focusing on science and technology. Recently certified as a secondary English teacher, she founded Words in Play Writing Workshops in 2006 to teach creative writing to teens and adults because working with words is fun stuff. She is a regular contributor to Kearsarge Magazine and encourages her students to submit their stories for publication as well.
Laura Osborn, art director
Laura has 17 years experience as a graphic designer and art director. From initial concept through final production, she has created communications that have helped her clients stand out from the crowd. Clients include: Dartmouth Medical School, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the Hopkins Center, Gifford Medical Center, Trumbull-Nelson, isee systems, the National Reparatory Orchestra, Coors Brewing Company and Symbion.
Mark Cookson, ad production and advertising sales
Mark has been associated with the printing industry since 1979, and spent 10 years at Dartmouth College managing the prepress department for the printing services. He now owns his own business, Cookson Publishing in Hanover, providing graphic design, typography and advertising layout. He holds an associate degree in Arts from Granite State College.
Winnie Mutch, Web developer
Winnie, who hails from Scotland, has been designing and building websites for fourteen years. She has her own business, GraniteState Web Solutions, and is also the Web manager for the Global Health Council in Vermont.
